¿Zergaitik kantatzen dugu? Why do we sing? To answer this question and so that children sing, have fun and grow up around music, the Bilbao Choral Society has launched the “Eskolan kantari” school project, which is made up of children’s choirs from different educational centres. The Arriaga Theatre stage brings together these young singers in their debut as artists who want to share their songs. They will also be accompanied by the Bilbao Choral Society’s Children’s Choir and the Euskeria Youth Choir.
The musical event will begin with a song from our folklore, “Kantuz sortu naiz”, which reminds us that we sing to live, to share and to smile. It will end with the song that gives its name to the concert, “Why we sing”, by the American composer, Greg Gilpin, in which all of the participating choirs will sing.
Between these two compositions, there will be a whole range of emotions, stories and feelings in voices that are full of hope.
