Vocalia taldea: Andra

As is the case in many areas, choral composition has traditionally been a field reserved, almost entirely, for males. Fortunately this is changing and many female writers all over the world, who have broad training and exquisite sensitivity, have written and write for choirs with high or female voices.

For Vocalia Taldea, in her own words, it has been a real pleasure to research and benefit from the collaboration and personal contributions of many female writers in carrying out this project. It was more pleasurable still to practise and work with this music, to discover it and make it our own in order to be able to perform “Andra” today, this little mosaic which reflects the current work of some of the most important European and American female writers of the present day.
