Ruper Ordorika: Bakarka

Ruper Ordorika is undeniably a leading light on the Basque music scene. He has rightfully earned his place through his own songs, as well as his highly evocative compositions based on texts by writers such as Bernardo Atxaga and Joseba Sarrionandia. With more than 15 albums to his name, and three more with the seminal traditional Basque music trio, Hiru Truku, Ruper Ordorika is a songwriter with his own unique voice, a way with words and a highly cultivated musical vision, able to tap into popular tradition and also work with cutting-edge musicians.

On this occasion, after the release of his first solo album, “Bakarka”, Ruper Ordorika (guitar and vocals) will be performing alone on stage at the Arriaga Theatre. A songwriter who is able to transcend barriers, either with his electric band or, as in this case, in an unplugged format.
