In the Homecoming, Pinter – an irreverent and provocative novelist if there ever was one – depicts the thousand and one paradoxes and tensions between a widowed father who lives with two of his adult children and a brother. The arrival of the eldest son, who appears to be the family success, and his wife causes a storm to brew given the suffocating and oppressive atmosphere caused by mutual jealously and hate among all the clan members.
Playwright and poet Harold Pinter (London 1930 – 2008) was widely regarded as the foremost figures of English drama in the second part of the twentieth century. He won various awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2005. Daniel Veronese (born 1955 in Buenos Aires) is an internationally acclaimed dramatist, adapter, actor, and director.
