Who Shot Us? is a tale based on events too real to be a fantasy, yet it is also a fantasy. This story could begin by saying: “Once upon a time, there was a distant country called Romania that lived under the dictatorship of a vampiric form of communism, which got rid of it by shooting the dictators and founding capitalist democracy, only to become the second poorest country in Europe.” Let’s say it’s a tale about disillusionment, fear, emigration, exploitation, and the hope that somewhere in the world, at some point, we will feel loved. There’s grotesque humor, there’s musical comedy, there’s pain, there’s humor, and there’s a hopeful look at an increasingly dehumanized world.

This project arises within the framework of the “Antzerkigintza berriak – New dramaturgies” programme promoted by the Teatro Principal Antzokia de Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Teatro Victoria Eugenia de San Sebastián, and the Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao.
