Concert in collaboration with Arriaga Theatre – Bilbaína Jazz Club
The world-renowned alto saxophonist Perico Sambeat, is considered one of the great contemporary jazz musicians of our time. Throughout his prolific career, he has made more than twenty records as band leader and more than a hundred as accompanist, outstanding being his work with great figures such as Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tete Montoliu, Michael Brecker, Pat Metheny and a very long list of others.
On this occasion, Perico presents a quartet formation that includes Spanish musicians of the highest standing. Together they will perform a repertoire of original compositions that explore new ways of approaching flamenco through bulerías, tanguillos, alegrías or seguiriyas. The result is a rigorous and innovative combination of both styles of music: jazz and flamenco.
The “BJC Arriagan” cycle, which offers different concerts throughout the season, is the result of the collaboration between the Bilbaína Jazz Club and Arriaga Theatre.
