A woman’s mythological journey passes through all four stages of life.
La Asociación Ballets Olaeta – Olaeta Ballets Elkartea presents M eme M (Mari emakume Mitologikoa), its new Ballet production as a woman’s mythological journey from childhood to maturity. This voyage is an excuse to bring out the mythological world and show mythology through the woman’s eyes and her strength and personality in this world, eventually projecting all of this on current society. Three spirits, alongside the bertsolaris Jon Maia and Josune Aramendi and the txalaparta, lead us into a magical world and breathe life into the story.
Furthermore, Ballets Olaeta will also perform the Basque ballet Lau urtaroak (The Four Seasons) with choreography by Bittor Olaeta set to music by José Luis Franco, which represents the four seasons as four stages of life. Spring is carefree, playful and happy childhood. Summer is youth, strength and drive. Autumn is maturity, serenity, elegance and harmony. Winter is old-age, wisdom and represents the sarcasm of our elderly.
As well as the dancers from the Ballet, these performances also feature the “Zirzira Ahots Taldea” women’s choir, led by Ius Pérez; the BilbaoSinfonietta orchestra, conducted by Iker Sánchez.
