Released in 1927, “Metropolis”, one of the maximum exponents of German expressionism, is one of the most influential films in history, considered a cult classic. A Science Fiction classic that is always interesting in itself, this performance offers the added appeal of showing an extended version, which was discovered in Buenos Aires in 2008. Following a restoration process that drew international attention, scenes that were thought to have been lost have been incorporated.
Now, you can enjoy the spectacular original soundtrack composed by Gottfried Huppertz, which will be performed live by the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa (BOS). A few months ago, we enjoyed watching “Nosferatu” as we had never seen it before, and very soon we can do the same with “Metropolis”, an essential film, which influenced other classics such as Blade Runner and Star Wars.
