Mende Berria Kantuz

On the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of the Academy of the Basque Language, Euskaltzaindia, the Euskeria Choir of the Choral Society of Bilbao and Gaudeamus Korala from Gernika, will be offering choral renditions of traditional songs that are deeply rooted in the collective memory of the Basque people. Under the title of Mende berria kantuz, about 100 youths will sing the most beautiful Basque songs: ‘Ilargia’, ‘Gaztelugatxe’, ‘Euritan dantzan’, ‘Baga biga, higa’…

The singers will be accompanied by Lauko Quartet, an instrumental ensemble. And, most certainly, they will be joined by the audience, who will find it difficult to resist the temptation of singing these beloved all-time tunes.
