Los aborígenes

Three youngsters meet and revolutionise the world of art

08 may 2019

Aborígenes is a collage of texts from plays by Federico García Lorca, telling the story of his short but fruitful life. The show is a rich tapestry of genres and rhythms that mirrors the poet and playwright’s variety of styles. It is also an excuse for approaching his life and work in the 1920s and 1930s – an autobiography that emerges from his own texts, covering some of the most relevant episodes.

Lorca, Dalí, Buñuel were friends, colleagues and lovers. The Pabellón 6 Youth Company stage their meeting at the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid and show how their powerful connections changed the cultural paradigm of the day. Jokingly, even without realising, these three playful youngsters and some others like them forged a new imagery that changed art for good.
