Bach composed his harpsichord concertos in the 1730s, often arranging them from earlier works for the activities of the Collegium Musicum in Leipzig. La Ritirata will offer the multiple concertos, namely those written for two, three and four harpsichords (the latter, a version of one of the most superb concertos from Vivaldi’s L’estro armonico).
To carry out the project, an extraordinary quartet of harpsichordists has been brought together, including the legendary French musician Pierre Hantaï and three great musical talents of the present day, possibly the three most important harpsichordists in Spain: Diego Ares, Ignacio Prego and Daniel Oyarzabal, a pupil of Hantaï himself.
