Play based on the homonymous novel by NURIA LABARI.
“Mothers don’t write. Mothers are written about”. This is one of the assertions expressed in this theatrical adaptation of Nuria Labari’s novel of the same name, The Best Mother in the World – a fierce attempt not to let the mother you become consume the artist you are, or that the artist you are corner the mother you want to be. The story doesn’t start there, but much earlier. When the child to be born was no more than an absence knocking on all doors, slipping through every crack, like a lullaby untimely sung.
The Best Mother in the World seeks to immerse the spectators in the whirlpool of love, vertigo, humour and gloom that is generated in the body-mind of a contemporary mother, that spans the time from the desire to have a child to the very intense period of child-rearing. A new vision from the epicentre of experience, thanks to a woman-mother who finally decides to tell her own story. What follows is the story of a callous woman.
