From Denmark comes one of the most powerful groups on the extraordinary Scandinavian scene: the bassist Jesper Bodilsen’s trio. And on this occasion, he converts it into a quartet accompanied, as he is, by saxophonist and singer Mads Mathias. This vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist is a star in Denmark, and has conquered the hearts of music lovers with his performances, brimming with charisma and personality. His style respects the crooner tradition and draws from great jazz vocalists such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr.
The quartet will present music from several of Mads Mathias’ own albums and of the double bassist Jesper Bodilsen, who leads a trio that revolves around an extraordinary and forceful base, the result of the bassist’s own association with the renowned drummer Martin Andersen. And joining them is the pianist Steen Rasmussen, a musician with an extensive career, both as accompanist of Scandinavian pop and jazz singers and as performer of his own Brazilian music projects with musicians such as Leo Minax and Josefine Cronholm. The Arriaga welcomes these four great talents.
