Alberto Conejero shares with the audience the beauty, mystery, and darkness of an epic poem through which he dialogues with the human condition and connects different eras. He combines voices from the past and present, starting from the character of Patroclus, companion of Achilles. It’s a staging based on Homer’s Iliad and other texts, which brings us closer to a fundamental work of Greek classical literature.
Performer, playwright, and director. Three great talents present a show that is both a war song and an oratory for the victims; a monologue about what words and ideas like “glory,” “honor,” or “homeland” do to bodies; a dark poem in which the violence of the battlefield is discussed, but also the violence of desire. Because the Iliad begins with the desertions of two men who love each other and who leave the battlefield ten years after the war began. We continue to talk about the Trojan War because it is still burning.
