A musical adaptation of Xavier Montsalvatge’s opera, one of the most prominent Spanish composers of the 20th century, for piano, five singers, and a dancer, based on the traditional tale by the French writer Charles Perrault.
It tells the story of a miller’s son who inherits only a simple cat. What he doesn’t know is that this cat is extraordinary, with the ability to speak, and will ultimately transform him into the Marquis of Carabas.
This production, with a simple and agile spatial concept, features entertaining costumes and captures the essence of the story that makes both young and old laugh and dream, all while maintaining the refinement of a delightful score in which ballet also plays a significant role.
