THE EYES OF BUÑUEL

Any attempt to remake “El ángel exterminador” would be a task that is as banal as it is impossible: “El ángel exterminador” already exists, as one of the greatest films made by Buñuel; it is part of the history of Film and of Art in general. The tools of the Theatre allow us to re-examine it with new eyes, with today’s eyes, to approach its mystery, the spell created by the impossibility of leaving a space that remains open at all times. A space that expands, like concentric circles, from the most intimate room to the frontiers of the world. Looking at these characters again (deforming mirrors) and asking them what they want to tell us. The tools of the theatre also allow us to question the extent to which the events of the film affect us in the here and now of our times, and to delve into the subconscious not only of the author but also our own, to enter a world filled with questions and with few answers. Viewing the present through the eyes of Buñuel.
