Recital dedicated to three essential French composers: Charles Gounod (Paris 1818), George Bizet (Paris 1838) and Jules Massenet (Saint-Étienne, 1842). All great pianists, they received the prestigious ‘Rome Award’, knew one another, and even coincided at the controversial premiere of “Carmen” at the Paris Ópera Comique in the year 1875. Some of their operas have undoubtedly earned their place in the history of music… but did you know that they also composed songs for piano and voice? Massenet composed over 200 of them! This concert offers a true discovery for the ears.
