CHICAGO MASS CHOIR: B.B. KING SPIRITUALS

With the utmost respect and loyalty to the gospel tradition, Chicago Mass Choir is presenting B.B. King Spirituals, a heartfelt homage to the King of the Blues and American popular music. In B.B. King Spirituals, the Chicago Mass Choir will perform the purely gospel music that this legendary musician recorded in 1959, on a disc that represented an emotional return to the hymns of his childhood churches in Mississippi. With this tribute to B. B. King, the Chicago Mass Choir is bringing these old hymns back to the stage with all the fire and beauty of the past.

The Chicago Mass Choir, founded in 1988 by James C. Chambers, has moved audiences throughout the world with its beautiful voices, the contagious energy of its rhythm and poignant songs of hope. At least 16 of its productions have entered the Billboard gospel hit lists and the choir has been nominated for important prizes such as Grammys and Doves.
