TICKET REFUND

To recover the cost of tickets purchased for cancelled shows, the procedure will be as follows:

If the tickets were purchased via Internet, the price will automatically be refunded, by crediting the credit card with which payment was made. Due to the large volume of tickets, we would ask you to please be patient.

If the tickets were purchased at the theatre, the price will be refunded once the confinement period is over, at Arriaga Theatre box office during normal working hours.

Brecht se encuentra con Weill: La boda de los pequeños burgueses/Mahagonny – Ein Songspiel is a new, vibrant  production by the Arriaga Theatre, introducing two early works by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, written in Berlin in the roaring twenties: La boda de los pequeños burgueses (A Respectable Wedding), a crazy comedy ending in chaos, and Mahagonny – Ein Songspiel (The Little Mahagonny), a scenic cantata belonging to a brand-new genre, using jazz and the music of the 1920s to denounce a consumer society that is falling apart.

This Arriaga Theatre production, directed by Andrea Moses – a renowned, award-winning musical theatre director from Germany –, is brief and concise, fast-paced and compelling, fun and absurd, surrealistic and sentimental. It makes fun of our attempts to be happy in a world where we destroy one another, where we need urgent solutions. On stage, law, order and social mores are subverted and replaced by anarchy and chaos, by a sceptical look at the old values and big, cruel businesses of the bourgeoisie. But the unsettling question remains: Can a new and better world emerge from this theatrical collapse?
