Dance show based on the musical Kindertotenlieder (Songs on the death of children) by Gustav Mahler, comprising five lied songs, which manifest the strength of intuition, hope and innocence as a means of activism. The creation also includes a piece by Janacek, and a revolutionary song by Eisler.
“Aparición” gives voice to children, who sing and incorporate melodies that adopt the form of animal voices in the sound landscape of the production. Performing with them, one pianist and five dancers from the Ballet National de Marseille and ICK. Each song will take the audience to a different sensory space where, guided by light, movement and music, they will travel through the different stages of pain, acceptance, and hope.
This season, the Arriaga Theatre presents Aparición, the first part of the project, based on Kindertotenlieder by Gustav Mahler. A diptych of two separate presentations: Aparición and Desaparición.
