Antonio Banderas and the Soho CaixaBank Theatre present A Chorus Line, Broadway’s acclaimed musical premiered in 1975 and running for 15 years in a row, winning nine Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Centred on seventeen Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line, A Chorus Line introduced a new perspective by drawing on the real-life experiences of the members of the original cast. The production coming to the Arriaga Theatre, directed and choreographed by Baayork Lee and co-directed by Antonio Banderas, is a remake of the original musical.
A chorus line features 26 performers on stage, a world-class cast led by the actor Pablo Puyol, who plays the part of Zach (a role performed by Antonio Banderas in Malaga). And, of course, a great musical has to have a great live orchestra, composed of 15 musicians under the musical direction of Arturo Díez Boscovich.
